Had them do plumbing on a bathroom remodel. Ordered all fixtures and tub through Ferguson. When we received our bill for the job it was just a flat fee. We asked for an itemized bill. Kim said they couldn't do that and that they had not received an itemized bill from Ferguson. I went out to Ferguson and asked if Elleman was sent an itemized bill and they said YES they were. We went ahead and paid the bill but really feel like we were taken advantage of. Also we were sent a second bill just for the plumbing. Guess what??? Same deal! No parts or even hours listed for the job. Just a flat fee with nothing listed as far as parts or items . I don't know of any other people we have worked with in our 39 years in Fort Collins who I feel have been so deceptive. If you are going to charge someone, a least let them know what they are paying for. I cannot recommend these people! However, I did like their plumber Brad. He needs to go to work for a better and more honest company!!!! PS. I had to give them 1 star before it would allow me to post this!
My husband and I have used Ellmann for six years and will always call them as our first choice. Our baseboard hot water heating system is a little funky and they have repaired and maintained it for us without a problem. I would be very hesitant to call less experienced people. They've never tried to take advantage of my ignorance and sell us a new heating system when they could have done that. They have also done an excellent job with every other type of plumbing repair we've needed. Their quotes on parts and labor have been accurate and reasonable.
Worked with Ellmann twice in last three months. First was a semi-urgent issue they resolved quickly for me. Repair required snaking the drain leading out of house and fixing cracked piping. Second was not urgent. They told me what product they would use, allowed me to buy it online, they installed it and fixed an under-sink drip problem as the same time. They charged me very reasonable rates both times.
I have a lot of experience with this company. I moved to Fort Collins in 2009 and started a small home improvement company. Every time we run into a plumbing problem, like a leak in a crawlspace, or freezing pipes that need to be relocated we refer the customer straight to Ellmann. Tom and his crews respond right away and they are happy to take small and large jobs alike on short notice. Our customers have always been really happy with them and the prices are reasonable. This makes me and my company, This Efficient House, look good too.
These turds promised us a drop in to peek at a concern at no charge, after noting that we have major lack of trust with turd burglar plumbing companies and assuring us they will only come and glance and give us a recommendation on what to do. They send out a very rude and condescending service man, who felt it was appropriate in making disgusting comments about my fiancee as she was out of the room for not knowing plumbing at his expertise. He does find the problem and proceeds in clearing the problem. No legitimate agreement were established (just disgruntled sighs, in OUR home) We were left under the impression that this wasn't a charge. we discussed a lot of other problems and spoke about potentially going though them in the future. Weeks later we receive a bill for $150 for what was mearly a 20 minute visit. I'll pay your dumbass invoice but TRUST THIS- WE WILL NOT BE BOTHERING HELLMANN SERVICE AGAIN WITH OUR BUSINESS.
