Similar experience as other people. Have been a commercial customer of Cox for years, prior to the current owner. Needed some gas line work done and had an appointment for Jeff to come out and check out the work. Was told he would need to stop at the end of the day, between 4:30 and 5:30. At 4:45 I called and asked if he was still coming. Their answering service said they would relay the message. No call/no show. Called the next morning and got an apology with no explanation. Was told that Jeff would call me. No call and we have gone on to use a different plumbing company for future needs.
Had an appointment with this company for work done on a recently purchased house that I hadn’t moved into yet. I made a special trip to MKE from Green Bay to be at my house, needing to make special arrangements for others to watch my kids. No one showed up to the appointment. I sat by my side window (next to my driveway) for part of the time, by my upstairs window overlooking the road in front of my house for the rest of the time. When I called to find out what happened, I was given an obviously false statement* about how no one was there to answer the door. I have a doorbell. It works. Even if I believed that someone actually came to my house, I don’t know if I can trust them to fix a shower if they can’t figure out how to use a door bell. Now that I see I’m not the only person who’s been forgotten by this contractor, I’d advise anyone else to look elsewhere for plumbing services. * If you want to give a bad excuse for not showing up, don’t give me multiple different times for when your plumber supposedly showed up and left. (In their response they noted attempts to contact my wife and I the day of the appointment. This is at most half true. My wife made the initial appointment, and Cox called her to confirm it for the wrong day (a week earlier). I called to clarify the correct date and that I would be the point of contact from here on out, giving my number and reiterating that I would be the one to contact. I can’t say for certain if they called my wife before the appointment, but they did leave a voicemail after the fact. I have zero phone calls, missed or otherwise, from before, during, or after when this plumber claims to have been anywhere near my house. I don’t typically go out of my way to call out a small business like this, but the bold faced lying is difficult to stomach and cannot be ignored when there are so many other options out there.)
Jeff Biesboer (owner) came to my home to resolve a horrible experience I had with one of his employees the day before. He said he had fired the employee based on other clients with equally negative experiences with the man. Jeff felt badly for my experience with his company and promised two things; 1) if I ordered a replacement part to my water softener, that “within a day or two” of its arrival he would come by and finish the installation I had already paid for at no extra charge, and 2) he offered a $100 credit for further plumbing services. I called Jeff Friday April 5 to let him know the replacement part would arrive Monday April 8 so that he could plan on finishing the install. He said to let him know when it was in my hand. I called him Monday with the part in my hand, and he asked for a picture of it. I sent him a picture of the replacement part in my hand. He responded “yes”. I text him at 7:45 Tuesday morning , April 9 , to ask if he had any estimated time frame for coming by, so that I could plan my day accordingly and be available when he had the chance. There was no reply. I called at 12:45pm the same day. He answered with “I have to call you back” and hung up. There was no call back. I called again at 5:45pm, he did not answer so I left a polite voicemail saying I understand if you are busy, I just want to know how I can get on your schedule. There was still silence until Friday afternoon April 12; I went into his establishment that morning to try and contact him in person and his service manager promised to call me back “this morning” with a solution for getting my installation on the calendar. Again, there was no call. I went back into their office after lunch where I asked a receptionist to get Jeff on the phone. I could hear Jeff from the other end of phone, across the counter from the receptionist, saying if I wanted a service date, I could pay for it, or she could “tell me to be patient”. I already paid over $1000 for an installation that was still incomplete. He made two promises and instead of keeping his word about either of them he completely ignored my attempts at communication , and retracted what he promised to do without a word to me about changing his plans. He not only didn’t “make things right” from the first employee that was sent over, he has made them exponentially worse by dodging all my communication and telling his receptionist to tell me I could pay him even more to get the installation finished. This is the worst business model I have ever encountered. I proceeded to attempt a resolution with him through Better Business Bureau and he was dishonest in the account and refused to make any negotiation with me.
I tried to get them out to my house first they told me they would be there next day in the afternoon. No call no show. Than I had to call them in the morning to see why they didn’t show. Eventually a guy showed up but didn’t do anything and said he would finish it up that night. I had my insurance adjuster in the next morning around noon and nothing was done. I wasted multiple days with their lies. If they can’t schedule correctly I can’t imagine how bad the work is. I had to fire them.
Consistently courteous and professional. Adept at efficiently repairing the weird $h1+ that passes for plumbing in my almost 100 year old house. Highly recommend.
