Boxelder Sanitation District

This place only only rips people off, but it's the only company around the area that is a nightmare for renters/landlords! I would cancel my service with this awful company if I could! avoid it! You've been warned!

Update: I wanted to be fair and update my review. Boxelder now has an online option available for their payments and they no longer charge extra fees to pay online. You can also see your bill before you pay it. I was happy to see this change, and gave them two more stars for it. If their service continues to be better and their billing works as advertised, I might even raise the rating again. Original Review: Like others, I would give a zero star if I could. They have constant rate hikes, which is bad enough. But their billing is terrible, too. No way to see your bill online. You also have to pay a "convenience fee" to pay by any method except mailing in a check. I pay all of my bills online, so this is a ongoing annoyance. Are you telling me that it costs more to process if I pay online than if I mail in a check? Not just for credit cards, either. You can't even pay by e-check without their insane fee. Only a utility company, which most people have no choice in, could get by with this. It makes me wonder if it is even legal for a utility company to charge such a fee.

I call when I get off work at 4pm and no one ever answers the phone and that was the final straw that drove me to this review board. But the real problem is a $64 MONTHLY RATE FOR CLEAN WATER AND THEY HAVE A MONOPOLY ON CLEAN WATER IN THIS AREA. That is a $64 flat rate just to take water from your house and then you have to pay another company to get water to your place. Let me reiterate that, if you want 1 gallon of drinking water to your house that is a starting rate of $64 a month, they have a monopoly on this service in this area and this does not include water TO your place. When it takes $64 to take away water plus paying someone else per gallon to get water here then that is a shady business indeed and this is not normal. Take the following examples: The bill to get **** gallons of clean water in was $24.94 from Elco Water. The bill to get even 1 gallon out is $64? That makes no sense, my friends that lives in city limits pay that same rate to get water into their places AND the service of removing it is included in the bill! So the clean water bills of my friends in city limits vs me is, $25 vs $90... They are ripping off masses of people and it is disgusting. UPDATE 01/09/19: Monthly fee has been increased to $70

Can't believe they can rip people off like this. Two units duplex is $128 per month plus Elco charges separately. There must be something that can be done to stop this INSANITY.

I live in a 1000 square foot home and I’m a self sufficient college student. Your monthly bill is outrageous and is more than all my other utilities or other monthly bills I receive. Unreal, Thanks.
