Harwood Plumbing & Heating

BEWARE! We had our natural gas BBQ hooked up by Harwood Plumbing & Heating. We called to ask how much it would cost. Someone came to our house that day and said their "high" estimate would be $300-$350. The techs came a day later and set us up in less than an hour. Everything went as planned. Our bill was $468.00. 1/3 more of the bill we were expecting. Apparently they charge their travel to and from (apparently 37min drive for them but it took 5 mins for us) + they round up their labour (they sent a tech and a helper and charged us two hrs for each of them but they were here for less than one hour) and then the tax of course. None of these charges were explained to us prior to doing business. In fact the companies defence was that it was an "estimate" when they first came to the house. Why come if what you tell us to expect for cost is completely open ended? Why come to our home to give an "estimate" if you can charge us almost double what you quote? Get your quotes in writing if you deal with them and have them explain IN DETAIL what they charge for. If you're techs are sitting in your driveway for 5 mins after their job shew them away! It's costing you more money!

Highly recommend this place. I was referred to this company by my pool supplier and I wasn’t disappointed. Rick and his crew were amazing. Rick came over when he said he would to look at my pool and gas meter to provide a quote. The guys came in to install the gas line a couple of days later. Cant say enough they did a great job even painted the black steel gas pipe!

If I could give them no stars, I would! BE WARNED! Most arrogant people I have ever dealt with, especially the owners wife who is in charge of billing! #1 Was quoted no more than 3 hours to do the job when it actually took 6.5!!! #2 The tech did not have the proper tools with him to do the installation and had to go back to the office. Thirty minutes there and 30 minutes back cost me $95!!! Judy, the owners wife defended this and said to me "Can you imagine if we had to buy hammer drills for all 10 of our techs". I can't imagine any tech NOT having the right tools with them to do the job, and especially charging the customer for that time wasted!!! I have dealt with this company for OVER 15 years and have always recommended them BUT after the argument with Judy on the phone about this invoice and refusing to take even 30 minutes off the bill, I WILL NEVER USE THIS AWFUL COMPANY AGAIN!

Fast prompt and professional services. Came with all the right tools. Would have liked to know the costs breakdown and surcharges prior to receiving a bill but we got service in peak season in less than 12 hours so I really can't complain.

to busy to call you , and dont show up when they say they will. this has happen more then once, but will be the last time.
