Gilbert Heating & Air Conditioning

I had Gilbert Heating come out a few years ago to diagnose why my furnace wasn't staying on, and the technician determined that it was a relay on the control board that was sticking, and demonstrated to us that we could tap the relay with a screw driver to make it kick on. I didn't have the cash to pay the ridiculous $500+ they wanted to install a new circuit board, so we opted to deal with this hassle until I finally got sick of it. I contacted them again, expecting to be able to just have them order a new circuit board and come install it, but Chris wanted to charge me for another service call, stating they didn't have any documentation on the circuit board. I didn't feel that it was fair to be charged for the same thing twice so I argued, feeling entitled to just a little more, after having 3+ furnaces installed through them over the course of two decades and two houses. Chris at one point told me "It is what it is, I'm not going to sit here and argue with you." You're right Chris, you're not - I'll take my business elsewhere. Because it was clear to me at that point that this man, and perhaps this entire establishment doesn't care about customer satisfaction. He could have offered to meet me halfway, or at the least just stood his ground and said "Sorry, I can't help you." I also recall having them out to my house a year or two prior for a leaky kitchen faucet, and was told the repair would cost $300+, with $70 of that being for parts. I'm not a plumber but this was so offensive to me that I decided to buy the $20 part myself, and I had the job done in 10 minutes. These guys are a joke. They over charge and they do not respect the customers they service. At all.

Great service and reasonable prices

They sent a tech to inspect my existing units and said I need to replace everything (which I was ok with) but haven’t gotten call back for a quote even though I paid the inspection service of $130 four weeks ago. I’ve even left messages and still nothing. I’m sure there are plenty of other businesses in the Sandusky area that will give me better service.

Our AC died this past summer. Called multiple companies to have it looked at and see if could be saved or needed a new one. All companies all agreed; our setup was wrong, AC couldnt be saved and had to redo furnace. Gilbert Heating though was the only one that found a way that would not require me having to buy 2 new ACs and a new furnace. This was during a very hot time of the year (95+ for 2 weeks). Todd the owner offered many solutions until the unit could arrive. Before they were able to get it setup, the unit arrived early and a cancellation occurred so we were able to get it installed sooner. This is a family ran business and it showed. All very professional and answered my million questions. I was referred by a friend and this was one referral that didn't disappoint. We previously used another company for the furnace, but will now be using Gilbert Heating & Air for all of our needs.
