My AC broke on a Sunday night at 8:30 PM. It was was over 90 degrees and super humid that night. I called the SPS after-hours number and they were here in less than an hour and had my AC up and running right away. The tech was pleasant, extremely helpful and was able to diagnose my issue with in minutes. The cost was very reasonable considering it was very late on a Sunday night and an urgent call. These guys have my business moving forward. I will be calling them for all my AC and Heating needs.
We've been customers of SPS for several years and for the most part they have served us well. On Sunday our AC unit stopped working so I called their emergency number. Within a couple of hours their technician showed up which was great. Within about 90 minutes the air was back on and we were happy. So why 3 stars? It has everything to with the sales mumbo jumbo that the poor technician was forced to foist on me. I was presented with several different pricing options from $250 to $750 for the repair and because of the legalese, it was not very clear what I was getting for my money. When I asked what was wrong with the system, I was told it was a faulty voltage absorption system. I've been an engineer for 29 years and have never heard of a voltage absorption system and I'm pretty sure such an animal does not exist. The only reference I could find on Google for a system like that was from someone getting ripped off by their HVAC vendor. The technician ended up replacing the capacitor which is probably a pretty cheap item. I'm happy that the unit was fixed quickly on a Sunday, but I don't like the fancy sales approach and I don't like fuzzy technical explanations probably designed to make people feel dependent on SPS. I like straight shooters and from this point forward SPS does not fall into that category for me.
Didn't even look at the AC unit like I ask and paid for. I would recommend J&J I stead of these guys.
I have been an SPS customer for over a dozen years. I sign up for the total maintenance solution package every year and SPS takes good care of my HVAC and plumbing systems. I recently had a dual A/C system replaced and SPS was very competitive price wise and did a great job. They kept their service appointments and made sure to quality check all of their work. Aaron and his crew are certainly experienced at what they do and couldn't have been nicer. I am even more satisfied staying as an SPS customer.
So thankful to have found SPS. My house had oil heat and I went through them to convert to gas. They were on time and worked at an amazingly quick pace. 2 days and my house is converted and WARM! Also, very professional and polite. Thanks Liam and Bobby! You guys rock :)
