Loyal customer, many years, but not going to use them ever again since they became "corporate black diamond". I have no problem paying service call, union labor+ profit, and material+profit rates in the past. Cost of doing business. The new corporate "per job" rate is taking advantage of the customers who relied on the "old Axburg" to be fair on price for a professional contractor to solve issues and make repairs.

I needed to get a gasline rerouted so I called for an estimate. I asked if I was going to be charged for the estimate when I called and they dodged the question numerous times (that right there should have made me not go through them but oh well). Had one of their technicians come to give us an estimate Thursday (8-1). Charged me a $79 "diagnostic fee" but the dude seemed to have zero idea what he was talking about and told me he would have to consult with his boss to figure out what to do. He also was unable to accurately even tell where my water heater was (in relation to the main floor)and tried to tell me that he knew for sure where it was and brushed me off when I told him it was actually somewhere else, which shows this man they sent doesnt have very good spatial reasoning skills which is not a comforting thing from a plumber. I was told I should get a call the next day with an estimate on the cost. No call came. The weekend came and went. No call. Monday goes by. No call. Tuesday I finally had to call to ask for my money back and inform them I have no interest in receiving any services from their company. Was told someone should give me a call about how I will receive my refund within the hour. Someone called 2 1/2 hours later and couldn't give me a definitive answer as to whether or not I could get a refund but verified how I'd like to get my refund and said that someone from upper management was working on it. It's now Wednesday and I haven't heard back as to whether or not I'm getting my refund. I'd also like to point out that I had another company come and give me a free estimate and the guy through that company was able to give me details about what exactly he planned to do and a detailed estimate and explanation of the cost of the job right then and there after he was done looking it over. That's what I expected with axberg black diamond. Moral of the story: black diamond sucks. Honesty and solid professionalism is important when running a company and they have shown me neither. This company is a joke.

Our AC went out in a heatwave on Friday night. I called Axberg at 10:30pm (they're open 24/7) and told them about my situation, they said they had an opening around 2pm the next day. They called me the next morning at 7:30am to let me know someone had cancelled and they could have someone over within the hour. True to their word, Zac showed up and inspected our system, our capacitor had gone bad (it's usually the capacitor from what I read online). Within 12 hours of calling, the capacitor had been replaced and my home was finally cooling! It cost around $190 (There are coupons online). $190 is reasonable considering how urgent the situation was, I called late at night, someone came by and repaired it on a Saturday morning, and Zac was super helpful and courteous, and did I mention the heat wave? Though the part was probably only $20 of the cost, the outcome was prompt. I strongly recommend Axberg!

I chose a hometown plumber to help with my toilet repairs. My toilets tank was not filling properly, very slow. I needed a new fill valve. I checked around at a local self fixing business and the part (fluidmaster 400 replacement with flapper) ran around $11. Axberg charges a $79 diagnostic fee to come out and give you a price for the work to be done. They will waive it if you have them do the work. I was told they dont charge for mileage. When I made the appointment, the lady would not give me an estimate. She could not give me an hourly charge. The technician was fine, the flat fee price was terrible. $235! With my coupon, it was $215. This is ridiculous. The technician was here 35 minutes and installed a $10-$13 part. I am posting this so someone doesnt need to decide between fixing a slow filling toilet and any other household expense.

I asked for a quote to install a hot water heater for my mother and they would not provide one. They indicated they wanted to charge $79.00 for someone to take a look and then tell me the price. I indicated the hot water heater was leaking so it needed to be replaced and what would the charge be just to install a hot water heater without additional plumbing. I run a maintenance company in another state and charging someone $79.00 for a straightforward item such as this is dishonest. Any other vendor I called could easily quote me over the phone for this item. Beware of someone that is trying to charge for things they shouldn't charge for.
