Noritz hot water heater stopped working, called Benjamin Franklin plumbing out to replace the 10 year old unit with new. the technician Steven Golden arrived and after a quick look at the unit agreed that the unit would need replaced. Which I agreed with. The price provided was twice what I paid to have the unit installed originally. When I asked how much I was paying for the Parts, Labor and others. I was told that because it was a holiday and there was no one in the office he was only able to provide a total for the job. I consider myself to be a savvy shopper and had already done research on the cost of a replacement water heater. The heater quoted retails for around $1,000.00 and I was given an estimate of over $3000.00. I would recommend doing your homework, I had another company come out a couple days later and installed a water heater two models up from the one quoted (retailed $1300.00) for a total price of $1,599.00. Nothing against the service tech, Steven was a very nice guy.

Doesn’t respond to requests for badly needed service calls

After they showed up late they told us they couldn’t even touch our water heater due to age. And told us we needed to buy a new one quoting us at triple the prices for buying and installing everywhere else. Then charged us a 70 dollar show up fee. So. We paid 70 dollars to almost get screwed over and have a guy stand in our driveway and say his hands were tied. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

These people came in and took my 74yr old husband for $2800 while I was out of town. They called and said we had a plumbing "inspection" due and he let them in the door. $550 for a garbage disposal to replace one that was working fine. Two faucets that had no leaks, and a brand new toilet to replace one that worked fine. They almost talked him into a water softener for $3000, also. They played on his fears that things "might leak" and scared him into the purchases. They even had a supervisor come out and confurm he really did need all this work. I have requested a manager call me 4 times in the last two weeks but can't get a return call. The only phone number I can find is for their scheduling department and nothing for an office. Stay away from this company and from their OneHour AC repair only because they are run by the same company.
