Bought a carpet here for a home I was selling. Toke them 4 months to install. They installed less than half and the installer that Home Depot picked US Installations said the carpet was damaged. Toke Home Depot 3 months to order the correct amount of carpet. Tried to get my money back to get another installer but they said they couldn't do refunds until completely installed. Manager at the store Wendy won't talk to me on the phone and I had to call Home Depot customer service to talk to someone. Do not buy carpet here!
I purchased carpet and installation with a "25 year" warranty. After less than 2 years, I could see wear patterns. I took my receipt to the store to 'file a claim'. The person I needed to speak to was not there, told they would call me. A week later, no call, so I call. Multiple calls later, I get the "right person" who will file the claim. A day later I get a call that I have to prove I had the carpet cleaned (nothing to do with wear patterns), so I provide that, 4 times. (Fax was lost, etc). So, after all is said and done, again, we begin the process of waiting to hear back when they will come and look at the carpet. No follow up. More phone calls. No follow up. No further along than when I started the claim weeks ago. If you are going to make a large investment in your home, like carpet, you'd be better off with a local flooring/carpet company. Buy your screws from Home depot, but base your big purchases on customer service. (I've written this while on hold!)
My wife and I ordered counter tops for a kitchen from the Evans Home Depot. It was seven months ago when we paid for them. The space for the counters was never measured correctly and the counter tops were never installed correctly. I gently ran my hand down the outside edge because it didn't seem right and I received a huge gash on my hand and bled in anger for a few moments. The counter had chips in it from ruff handling or something. The angles didn't line up nor did the back splash areas. Too long in one area and too short in another and to top it off, they left the sink unattached. My wife and I have been trying to get the counters fixed for almost 7 months with no resolve. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever received. At this point I would never recommend their services for anything and if they don't get it resolved, I'll never shop at another home depot again.
