Expensive and incompetent. I do not recommend. We tried them out because they could come on short notice in the heat of summer. They performed a temporary fix and wanted to charge $$$ to change additional components. They did not reinstall the ducting and evaporator correctly as several of the screws were lost or found around the unit. We ended up calling our "go-to" HVAC servicer, and they had to re-work the service performed by Golden West. They fixed the issue, and we spent less than the original service charge.
Absurdly expensive AND terrible customer service I cannot emphasize enough to not use golden west. I called them based on their good reviews for a furnace maintenance/ check up on a rental house in Denver. They said the check up was a flat rate of $199, so I figured it was a 2 hour thing to complete the service. On the date of the service, they called a bit after 11 to say their technician couldn't get into the house (it was on a lock box)- I called the tech at 11:20 and he said he had hair gotten in the house and would start the checkup. To my surprise he called 25 minutes later done with the service! $199 for 25 mins work! He then reported a small leak in the valve leading to the furnace and said he could fix it right then. I didn't want to leave a gas leak in the house so I agreed to have it fixed and said I would drive from boulder and meet him at the house. I arrived there about 45 minutes later and he was completely done, standing outside. The bill for 70 minutes of work was $584.00!!!! That's about 500/hour! To make matters even worse, since that time (November 12h I have left three unanswered messages for their "customer service manager" and then, because I never heard from him, one message for his boss the "operations manager". No one has called me back. Unbelievable - I would never in a million years recommend this company.
Very expensive, they did good work, but would recommend getting other quotes before starting any work.
