Specialty Plumbing

At least one star too many. Disappointed that Santa Barbara has a company that is so unprofessional and poorly managed. To a degree, I actually feel sorry for their employees.

We hired Specialty Plumbing to do all aspects of plumbing for construction of a new custom home. The rough-in was done by a seasoned employee that left Specialty half way through our job. Almost without fail, every other person they sent to work on our house, when they bothered to send someone after repeatedly ignored calls and emails, did near everything wrong, including failing to put the resin beads in the water softener, hooking the reverse osmosis system to the water softener brine tank, toilets that leaked from the bottom, sinks with the incorrect fittings, improperly vented drain pipes, and leaks under sinks. Then the real problems came; an over tightened fitting which cracked and leaked for 36 hours, pretty well destroying our basement and our belongings, and a sewer line that repeatedly backed up due to being installed for 40 feet with only 1/2 inch of fall and a large sag in the middle, causing repeated sewage backups and overflows in the house. The owner Ken refuses to take responsibility for his mistakes and refuses to reimburse us for the cost of fixing what they did wrong. He doesn’t oversee his jobs at all and just lets his employees make significant mistakes like they did on our house without any supervision. This company is a disaster, they deserve negative stars.

We have a manufacturing operation here in Santa Barbara. Speciality is always able to help us with small and large projects. They are very professional and have a very fast response time. Highly recommended.
