Very helpful. Helped me to reset my boiler over the phone - no need for costly visits for a simple problem. Will definitely recommend.
Great professional service
Perfect for a straight forward gas service but poor service otherwise. I have used Letters for a few years now and they have been fantastic with regards to a straightforward gas boiler service and gas safety check. I recently asked them to carry out some further plumbing work, namely a solar hot water system health check, a power flush of the radiators, balancing the radiators and investigate a drop in pressure. Whilst not exactly fun work for a plumber it is certainly well within their capability and it is services that are advertised on their website. I will now provide some justification for my review. On 14th august 2018 Letters attended and completed a gas safety review and check on all appliances following Firmus mistakenly disconnecting my supply. They done this at very short notice and for this I am thankful. As part of my original request I did ask for the additional services listed above but acknowledged that i was not in any rush to get them done(as it was summer and I wasn't using the heating). On 18th September a date was agreed with Letters via email of 4th October for the work to be carried out. On 4th October I was available at home all day and no one attended, No one called to explain if there was a delay or if they had to cancel. Indeed I had no contact from Letters until 31st October where they sent an invoice for the original Gas safety check. I responded via email asking for an explanation for the non-attendance and I will accept that the email did not send on that occasion(I was not aware that it did not send at the time). On the 5th November I sent my previous email asking for an explanation as to why no one attended and I have had no contact other than an Invoice. I received no reply. Fast forward to today and I received a final demand from Letters at which point I made contact with them via telephone. We confirmed that they did have the appointment in their diary, They confirmed that they had not attended the job and they confirmed that they had received my email asking for an explanation as to why. They even went as far to say that they had marked my email as urgent. I offered the opportunity to give me a reason for not attending and they have responded with it was 'bad management'. I have since settled my account and have received an apology via email. I accept this although do feel that it is too little too late. I write this review disappointed. I always had held a positive opinion of Letters and referred many neighbours to them and I can no longer do that. the engineers who have attended have always been very friendly and very diligent workers and the quality has always been very high. The circumstances above negate the fact that everyone can make a mistake. They had been made aware of the mistake and took no steps to resolve it and that is what disappoints the most.
Very expensive service, didn't change any parts and charge 50pounds for 5 mins job. If I know I would find somone cheaper. Otherwise I would recommend.
Very expensive.. £82 for a 10 minite job. Was out of hours ( 17.10 pm) but still very expensive for the job that was done
