Plumb Tek Ltd

Unprofessional and incompetent I was overcharged for a simple job for which they knowingly used the incorrect parts. They left damage to my property . I've had to call in another plumber to fix this. Do not book with plumtek!

Do not touch this company with a proverbial barge pole. We are (hopefully) considerate but absentee landlords with two flats in Wolverhampton. One of our tenants is a young family with a small baby, so when their boiler became faulty during cold and wet weather we quickly called Craig Edmunds at Plumb Tek (of Kingswinford) who promised to do an immediate diagnosis. He called me from the flat and said that basically the boiler was completely broken and could not be repaired - suggesting that one of the main parts of the boiler was very old and manufacturers did not make that anymore. He quoted £2,005 for an immediate replacement boiler, replacing the existing Worcester Bosch unit with Ideal. After that call we realised that the Worcester Bosch boiler in question still had a few months warranty on it, so we arranged for one of Worcester Bosch's engineers to attend, which he did within 48 hrs. Their engineer called me to say the boiler was cutting out because of a build up of condensation and all that needed to be done was to fit a visible air break. He said "that boiler has another 15 years good use in it". After that information all Craig Edmunds at Plumb Tek started arguing and then just wanted his £69 fault diagnosis fee. All talk of a replacement boiler suddenly vanished. I've also since noticed that many of the positive reviews below are from Craig himself, while there are many more bad reviews. I mentioned the bad reviews to Craig Edmunds who said there was another company called Plumb Tek, and the bad reviews were theres. Yeah right. Bottom line, client beware! Report him to Trading Standards Wolverhampton if you have had similar experiences. And check the online reviews before you book a tradesman!

UPDATE. I have been In touch with CRAIG EDMUNDS the company owner and he said that he did call back as agreed but there was no one in, I accept that this may have happened. Craig has now refunded the payment and in the meantime I went elsewhere for the repair. Original Review. Dreadful Company. If I could give no stars I would. Had a leaky pipe, Craig called out said that the repair was completed, took £82.00 for 5 minutes work, however the pipe was still leaking, asked him to call back, never heard from him again despite phone calls and texts, this was a young mother with a toddler and baby that he left in the lurch with no heating all morning on a very cold day. sounds like a similar experience to other reviews. Definitely do not use this company..

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! if only i had read the reviews on google before calling to have my boiler looked at. 5 mins into the job i was told the pump was blocked, heater blocked and diverter valve jammed. The heater was deemed as blocked by holding a hand close and it feeling too hot (not a professional diagnostic if you ask me). Either way this 5 min job cost me £94.80 and due to the boiler being deemed as un economical to fix a quote of £1950 which was clearly already in his mind at the start was provided for a new boiler. Following day with minimal effort by myself and a friend the boiler is now working perfectly fine, the pump not jammed, the heater not jammed and the diverter valve not jammed. The owner should maby think twice before lieing point black to an engineer. Do not use!!

Really happy with Shanes work, super friendly and he found the unusual problem fast. Fixed it and was done within an hour. No nonsense and extremely reasonable call out fee. Will definitely use again. Arrived a bit later than I was first told but worth the wait.
