Our experience with The Plugged Piper was very poor. We decided to install a back water valve for our house in 2017, a task to be done through a plumber approved by the City of Hamilton in order to receive a rebate. We picked The Plugged Piper from a list of about 4 or 5 plumbers. In addition to this, we had also decided to line a pipe to our house, as tree roots has grown through & damaged the original pipe. After our experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone. Below is an account of our timeline & issues with The Plugged Piper. Jun 02, 2017: Assessment & Quote. We were advised the project could be completed in a timely manner, to begin in August. It did begin in August, but it took us until late December to finally complete dealings with them. Jun 19, 2017: Permit Paid & Issued Aug 02, 2017: Work Started Aug 20, 2017: At this time, I was directed by The Plugged Piper to speak to the City & arrange for our water to be shut off on Fri. Sept. 1st. I made the arrangements. Sep 01, 2017: The City worker shut off the water & confirmed with my husband that it was off before leaving. When The Plugged Piper worker arrived, he spent time at the water shut-off, then advised my husband that the water was on & that the city worker had to return. He then left our property without advising when he would return. The Plugged Piper office staff then called me to say their worker had left a tool by the water shut-off, one that they're not allowed to have, & asked if we could hide it. After my husband hid the tool, the city worker returned, perplexed, shut off the water, & left, again. The Plugged Piper worker returned later that day to complete his work. Oct 20, 2017: Prior to hiring The Plugged Piper, we had hired Omni Basements to waterproof our basement walls from the inside of our house. This involved them jack-hammering the concrete floor around the perimeter of the basement, installing their product, then pouring new cement to finish the floors. They did a beautiful job! When The Plugged Piper came in to do their work & dug out portions of the concrete in the floor of the basement to do the necessary work - understandably so - they did a poor job pouring new concrete in it's place, and didn't repair the cracks they had created. It took time to convince them that the cracks weren't there prior to their arrival. They finally tidied up their concrete job, but the cracks still remained. We then decided not to pursue the issue any further as it was clear it wouldn't be fixed to the same standard as Omni. An office staff member advised she would mail us a package containing our documents, pictures & videos that we could submit to the City of Hamilton for our rebate. She also advised final payment would be due when we received the package. Nov 21, 2017: I left a voicemail advising I had not received anything from them, through mail or email. Nov 22, 2017: I spoke to the same office staff member & confirmed I didn't have to pay my final balance until I received all documentation required to submit my rebate. I had this conversation with her after repeatedly receiving calls and voicemails from other Plugged Piper employees asking for final payment. We didn't feel comfortable paying our final balance before receiving our paperwork as they didn't instill any confidence with their previous work through the project. We didn't want them to receive final payment then disappear without providing us the necessary documentation for the rebate. Dec 21, 2017: By December, I advised the same staff member that I still hadn't received any package by mail or email. She advised she didn't have anything else she could send, so I had to leave work early on Dec. 21st to drive to their office in Burlington, & make copies of everything I needed. After about an hour of sorting through everything & making all copies needed, I made final payment. The office worker I dealt with was very nice & tried to be helpful, but she clearly didn't have support from the rest of the company.

Great company. Had a question about about pipe insulation and after calling several other plumbers in the area, these guys were the only ones to get back to me and take the time to answer my questions, even though I did not buy the materials from them. If I ever need any plumbing work done I will make sure to call them.

I was recommended by a business friend to Plugged Piper, to Joe specifically for my problem with my sewage main line. It was cracked and leaking underground in my front yard. It caused a very unpleasant smell and was affecting my lawn. Joe came to the house and used a camera system to locate the crack in the sewage line. Because it was on my property it was my responsibility, so Joe gave me his recommendation of how to fix it and a price. He came back the next day with his truck and equipment and fixed the crack. I still had to repair my lawn due to the leakage but its all fixed now. Thanks to Plugged Piper I recommend you.
