I hired plomberie ML to install a hydronic floor heating system for a new home. Mario Levac had assured me he was experienced with these types of systems, and said had installed several dozens of systems. There were several problems with the system he installed: it was impossible to heat the house correctly. Certain areas were way too hot, and others way too cold. Valves and joints were leaking and corroding. When power returns after an interruption, the system heats parts of the house to 30 degrees. Problems were reported right after the system was activated three years ago. It took several telephone calls and e-mails to get Mario to come by and attempt to fix the defects. Despite his numerous visits, several problems remained unaddressed. It was apparent that Mario had no clue how to resolve outstanding issues, and he was evidentially uninterested in figuring out how to do so. In desperation, I became a detective and determined that 1) thermostats were incorrectly connected, inverting zones, causing thermostats to send heat to the wrong rooms, 2) one thermostat had a defective floor sensor, 3) the main controller on one of the panels was defective. In absence of resolution from Mario, I called in another company who pointed out 2 more issues with the installation: the excessive corrosion and leaking is caused by an incorrect glycol mixture (probably using non-distilled water) and Mario had neglected to install the outdoor thermostat shipped with the boiler designed to render the system efficient. The system consumes far too much electricity without the external thermostat. Mario refuses to address the 3 unresolved problems. It's looking like I will need to hire another company to do so, spend thousands of dollars to have the problems fixed, and take Plomberie ML to small claims court to attempt to get my money back!
