Wisconsin River Plumbing & Heating

I will preface my review by saying that no one at any time was disrespectful. I have used WRP in the past for plumbing work and it was fine and I felt like they took care of the "locals." I was not charged for this service, but it ended up costing me allot of time and money to fix after they left. Not this time. I called because I couldn't get my water filter off and needed help switching the old one out for a new one. They had someone out the next day. I typically hang around while they work because I learn things, but also because I have noted some bad business practices by other companies. So, the plumber turned off the main water first. Then he started turning the water off for the filter and I heard a 'snap'. This is the kind of snap you hear when plastic breaks. I noted that to him and said he turned it the wrong way for the water shut off. I've changed the filter many times so I know what's normal and what's not. He got the filter off and switched in the new filter. However, when he turned the water back on, the filter now leaked. He took it apart again and tried to get it to stop. I was taking video by this time. He cranked the filter so tight that it did APPEAR to stop leaking. I told him I guess I needed a new water filter system now. He said I would get a call for pricing. I waited two days before I called, wondering how long it took to look up a filter. The lady on the phone said it would have been nice if they would have told her. What she told me was how slammed they were and she would get back to me. Didn't happen. Told her my filter was leaking AND my water pressure terrible i.e. try to take a shower but don't flush a toilet or you will be down to a few drops! Oh but they were so slammed. I know how this works...they don't want to return. Two weeks later she called and said someone was available. By this time I had contacted a friend who gave me the name of a plumber who was at my house within an hour and had the problem fixed within two days. HERE'S THE RUB: The previous plumber had only turned the MAIN WATER on 1/4 of turn!! So for two weeks I had such bad water flow because of this!!! The new plumber pointed this out within 5 minutes of coming to my house. Also needed a new toilet which they couldn't take the time to look up either. So had yet another person install a toilet I had to run out and buy!

Good people, great service. Over the past 7 years, we have been clients of Wisconsin River Plumbing and learned early-on that they are the kind of small business we could count on for reliable service. During one of the coldest weeks last winter, the old farmhouse we own near Wisconsin Dells suffered a flood from burst water pipes. Jeff, the owner, and Cathy the office manager, basically dropped what they were doing to make sure the house was safe from further damage and also gave us good, friendly advice as to how we should proceed. Since then they have gone out of their way to get us up and running and now we are ready to enjoy the summer. We can't thank them enough.

I just called because someone in my home flushed a small pad down the toilet. The lady said it was ok to try to plunge it first, and if that did not work, then call back and they will come out. It worked, and I appreciate the honesty, will be calling if we have more problems. (Only reason not giving a 5 star is because they did not have to come out)
