Steakley Plumbing Company

Several years ago, my ex-husband and I hired Mr. Steakley to refurbish a bathroom. He promised a bid well below other companies and that the work would be finished in 3-4 months, September- Thanksgiving. The bathroom was finally finished in April the following year. At first, we were told to go to a well known plumbing showroom to pick out the items we wanted. It took me awhile to realize we were not getting what we paid for and replacements were being installed.There were so many complications, we ended up replacing or repairing almost everything his men installed. First, we were told no one made rounded seated toilets and we had to have an elongated seat; we believed him. The water heater was obsolete, outdated, no longer manufactured since five years before. When installed they did not separate the copper piping from the galvanized steel. Within months it had eaten a hole and water flooded the bathroom and the kitchen below. We repaired the wood floor, glued in this time, which by the way was not the wood we ordered. Originally, the new plumbing was placed right under the sub flooring, so when the wood floor was stapled in, it put holes in all the pipes so once again it all flooded. We then replaced the pipes and had tile installed. The ceiling in the kitchen below was now so damaged, it had to be completely replaced as well, and of course mold had set in. I will never trust this company to do any work in my current home. I was appalled at the time, but unfortunately my ex-husband was not as bothered by this shoddy workmanship as I was. Should you choose this company, I would strongly suggest you seek reliable references in hopes this did not happen to any other customers.

We called Steakley to come out twice in the past month. In each instance, we appreciated their expertise and the time they took to problem solve unusual issues.

Steakley Plumbing has taken care of our home for years. Our pool pumps froze last week in the frigid temperatures, there was not a heater left in the Nashville area. I called Steakley to see what they suggested. Jack Steakley answered the phone and personally delivered one of his heaters to me on his way home that afternoon. Steakley Plumbing is a local family business that cares about their customers, they are competent, considerate and efficient!
