Benchmark Plumbing

I build homes in an all around Nashville. We use a few different plumbing companies. Benchmark is by far the best I've worked with. This is over a 15 year period. I tried another company, Its been bad. Benchmark just does it best. Do they have a leak now and then. Yes. Do they fix and stand behind their work. YES THEY DO! Benchmark is a great company.

We built our house in 2009, and Benchmark Plumbing did the work. They installed a type of pipe called PEX. The kind they used was supposed to be the best thing ever, but since then it has been discovered that it breaks down and begins to leak. We had multiple leaks and were advised by Hiller (which incidentally is an awesome company) of the reality that all our plumbing needed to be replaced. I called Benchmark and asked for Nicole, the manager, because I simply wanted to get information on the identity of the manufacturer of the pipe used in our house. She wouldn’t come to the phone and her assistant told me that the company had since gone out of business. We have found out that this wasn’t true. The pipes were made by Nibco, and they are still very much in business. We have now completed six weeks of work in our house. The five full baths, three half baths, two laundry rooms and two kitchens and two water heaters have all been replumbed. Nearly 100 holes in our Sheetrock have been patched and repainted, and we are out nearly $30,000. I’ve just spoken to someone else with a similar problem and he was reimbursed by the manufacturer and he was able to do that by contacting the company’s sales rep. I called Benchmark back today and asked for Nicole and I wasn’t combative or difficult, even though they had given me false info before. I just wanted a contact for the company, as we had already tried to call a number for Nibco that we found online and had gotten no where. Nicole again refuse to come to the phone, and told her assistant to have me google it to find a number. I had not intended to go after them legally, as I am not a litigious person by nature, but they are gonna be hearing from my attorney. If they won’t even lift a finger to find me a phone number maybe they should write me a check.

Fixing leak number 7 today and husband is having to CUT OUT MY CABINET. Freaking FURIOUS. Do NOT EVER USE THIS PLACE.

If their driving is any indication of their workmanship, go elsewhere. Just watched one of their trucks very nearly sideswipe another vehicle on 840 - twice.

I would really like to warn anyone considering using Benchmark Plumbing. Two years ago we remodeled our entire home.. 5 bathrooms and 1 kitchen were installed by Benchmark. We have had numerous leaks occur over the last two years SEVEN to be exact (kitchen sink, body sprays (twice), vanity sink, kids tub hose, tub was also not caulked on one full side, steam unit & master tub).. and it all goes back to poor and improper installation. We've had to hire other plumbers to fix issues as they only stand by their work for 1 year.. some of the same things have leaked and leaked again.. even after they'd come back to fix. Today I realized our tub is leaking.. turns out they only attached the tub to the drain and did not use the clips from the instal kit that came with the tub to stabilize the tub to the floor. Well folks.. at some point and time.. it will come loose and leak into your living room ceiling AND damage your surround system speakers. Do yourself a favor and don't use these guys!
