Never have I been so disappointed by a business. I wish I could give 0 stars. They act nice & sell you on the idea of only getting charged for the time they put in, which sounds great! Until they do a TERRIBLE JOB WITH TIME MANAGEMENT & then you have to pay for their inability to work efficiently. There is a reason most construction company's don't operate this way. Their contract does not protect you from their inability to manage time. Our project manager was James, who was fake-nice & ultimately passive aggressive. We confronted some of our excessively high bills (because a 5k quote came out to nearly 15k!) & James avoided response despite my multiple attempts to talk to him for a week and when we got to talking was defensive & unreasonable (the "team" who was copied in on the emails did not help either). Keep in mind James never gave a heads up it would be a penny more than the quote. We're relatively young homeowners (but this wasn't our first time hiring contractors) & we're working a lot when we hired them so I think James saw this as an opportunity to take advantage - easy for these guys to do really! We payed them off & stopped working with them as soon as the urgent tasks were done. Beware of these snakes...
Keene is a honest company. If you want the job done right, then call Keene builders. They do some of the best work in The East bay period.
