We had to have part of our kitchen cabinets replaced. He seemed very professional. He flipped through a notebook of references faster than we could see and the BBB rating. He estimated 12,000. We paid him part of it up front. When he came back it was about 9 am Monday. He and his 2 sons, began by ripping the cabinets off the wall faster than we could get boxes and pans to put things in. They had to walk through the house to get tools, etc. This went on for 2 weeks, skipping some days, or part of the day, just bringing supplies. They left every day about 3 to 4. His sons did most of the work. We tried to stay out of their way but he wanted to chat constantly. He didn't finish painting behind the new sorry made cabinets. About half way through the job he wanted another 3,000.00 (Thousand) more to finish. We said no and finally settled on 2,000 more. They left a mess on the carport. It took weeks to wear off. I hope no one else has to have this man to do any work for them.
Thomas came out, gave me a verbal quote and timeline. He had family issues arise, no problem, assured me we would make the deadline. Then NOTHING. Wont return phone calls, put me 3 weeks behind getting my house listed. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Tommy came to my home on time the first visit. Seemed very knowledgeable. Then he left and never sent me a quote. Never contacted me to let me know he wasn’t interested. Never would answer his personal phone or his work phone. Left numerous messages for a return call but he and his company ignored me and another person I know. His inability to give any response back is a terrible business model and he doesn’t deserve your business.
We had four flat screen TV's hung, including re-wiring electrical/cable/HDMI for floating tv and custom audio speakers installed in the walls and ceilings. We also had five ceiling fans, two chandeliers, one sconce. I am very satisfied with their approach, the work completed, and they exceeded my expectations. We had a few contractors out before settling on Affordable Home Repairs. What impressed me was that the owner was extremely knowledgeable about construction. He knew exactly what I wanted and came up with the best plan. That was something the other contractors couldn't do. I've had this done in a few houses now and his plan/estimate estimate was spot on. Again very different than the other quotes. During the job, they were very careful, methodical and precise. There were a couple of things that I asked them to change (my fault, not theirs) and they did so promptly and with no hassles. The owner really cares about his reputation and prides himself on his reputation and Better Business Bureau reputation. The owner mentioned it a few times during the quote but I realized by how they acted throughout the process. If you need work done at a fair price; I whole heartedly recommend Affordable Home Repairs.
