I had a bad bathtub faucet and called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. They showed up the next day and gave me a $250 quote (to replace the faucet, materials not included) + $69 for just showing up. The guy told me he needed to do some soldering (to solder a piece of copper tubing to the old one), and asked my wife to join their membership for $100 (I was not at home, and my wife decided to pay them $100 for the membership). After I came home, I decided to do it by myself after all. It turned out that no soldering was needed at all, I changed the broken plastic piece of the faucet (I bought it for about $6 in Homedepot) and the problem was fixed! Very very bad experience with this company! Stay away from them.
Cannot say enough good things about the service I got from Benjamin Franklin plumbing. First of all they were the only one's to answer the phone on a Sunday. My main line was clogged with roots and the pipe had been originally been laid incorrectly. So mine was a big job! But the 4 guys I dealt with were professional, clean and hard workers. I had heard "Benjamin Franklin tries to sell you something you don't need." This was not true in my case, both Caleb, and Tyler offered ways to save me money. All of this aside Justin the laborer, Colin, Caleb, and Tyler, all tolerated and were incredibly nice to my Golden Retriever who wanted to be in the thick of it.
Benjamin Franklin installed a 40 gallon water heater in my garage (easy access). BFP grossly overcharged me - $1720 versus the $1000 that another licensed plumber charged for installing a 50 gal water heater in an almost identical home in my seniors subdivision. I cringe every time I see a Benjamin Franklin Plumbing truck enter our seniors subdivision.
Have hired them, will let you know when the job is done how they did.
Do not sign up for the service warranty, as they do not honor the 15% discount as mentioned in the agreement. We spent $800 on a installation and they refused to give us the discount. They gave us a song and dance as to why we didn't get it. I thought this was a honorable organization ,boy was I wrong.
