We have used this company long before I joined this family 19 years ago. They have helped in many situations before we moved out of the farm house, to setting up everything for our newly built home, 16 years ago. To installing a new, more efficient HVAC just today. They are great at explaining what needs to be done and why. The cost is reasonable. (We checked.). They go out of their way to clean up after the installation. He even swept snow out of our garage. I will not hesitate to tell my friends and recommend this company.
Regretfully, My experiece with Lang was about as bad as it gets. Called 9/3 to schedule fall furnace tune-up. Work order lost. Called again. Scheduled date. Tech arrived. Complained that this job wasn't on his schedule. Seemed angry. Found thermostat batteries had leaked. Needed new thermostat. I said ok. Tech finished job and presented bill for $210. Gave him check. A few days later when we first needed to use furnace, it made a whining noise. Called Langs several times. Never received call back, but finally got to talk with tech. He argued with me. Said, I just wanted thermostat replaced. He didn't check furnace operation. He was rude and condescending. I called again to talk with Jim Lang. Left message. Never returned call. I kept calling until I finally got to talk with Jim. He scheduled a different tech to come out. Tech checked furnace and found a bad part. Very expensive. Recommended replacing furnace. A few days later, a quote was provided. If quote was accepted they would waive the new additional $210 service charge. That seemed really wrong since, if they had not made so many mistakes, the problem would have been identified during the routine fall tune-up. I emailed them. I explained my frustration. I had also found out that I could have sent the thermostat to the battery manufacturer. If they determined the batteries caused the problem, they would have reimbursed the $65 I paid for the new thermostat. Couldn't do that because the tech took the old thermostat, without every asking me if he could. I asked Lang to send me a check for $105. 50% of what I paid them. I told them I would be willing to continue to do business with them, but only if I received the settlement I requested. No response from Lang. I followed up my email with two more phone calls. It's now been over a month since I first called to schedule the furnace tune-up. I wasted a lot of time, my phone log showed 12 calls to Lang Plumbing. No response! Once I decided to write this review, I read others. My conclusion is that if you do business with this company, you have about a 50% chance that you will be extremely dissatisfied. Buyer beware!!!
Whoever answers your phone should get training on customer service. She was extremely rude and short with my wife. Why would I do business with a company if that is how you are treated before even setting up an appointment,
Hired them to do two jobs. Fix a pop up plug in one sink and remount a bowl top sink that was leaking in another bathroom. They were polite and on time. Jobs went well and were very affordable. The following day the pop up plug job fell apart when my kid touched it. The part they installed was used and faulty. I spoke to them in person. I was a bit of a jerk in there defense as I was upset they installed a used part. They said they would order a NEW part this time and reach back out to me. They requested my portion of the paper as they misplaced theirs, so they had my contact info. They never reached back out to me, they never finished the job.
Poor customer service.
