They charge you extra if you don’t buy their over-priced products. Yesterday we got an estimate for a water heater installation from A&W. We had a gas heater but were told that it wasn’t vented to code and that it would cost over $1300 to do so but that if we wanted to install an electric unit we’d just have to get it re-wired for one. They gave us prices on their gas an electric units, both were nearly three times the price the same brand units are at the local home improvement stores. Told the rep we’d likely go with our own unit. The “difficult installation” price was listed at $306. So we hired and electrician to come out and re-wire for the electric unit this morning. This afternoon when we told A&W that we’d like them to come install the unit we were buying ourselves they suddenly said that we’d have to pay an extra $400 to “cap off the gas line and old vent.” When the rep was told that this wasn’t part of the contract he texted “I forgot to put that part on the paper.” Our gas company said that a $400 charge to cap the gas line was outrageous. They clearly only want your business if you buy their overpriced products. We’ll have to eat the $75 estimate fee, but would rather hire a company with integrity.
Excellent customer service, the people were very happy to help and friendly. I had a water pipe bust in my bathroom under the sink and they told me what to do until they could get someone to me. They got here within an hour or so and took care of the problem without any inconvenience. They performed their job quick and were in and out. I'd recommend to anybody in the Southern Illinois area.
I had a pipe burst in my bathroom and this was only plumbing service able to come help immediately. I don't know what I would have done without them! They were able to fix my pipe and they were very friendly as well!
Very rude and unprofessional, plus wanted to re-pipe whole house when it didn't need it.
When I called to schedule my appointment, they were super quick to get me scheduled in! This local, family business was on time and so friendly! They explained to me what the problem was, along with giving me tips to avoid it from happening again! I’ll definitely be using A&W again and referring them to any friends or family in need of service.
