I have been thoroughly impressed by the quality of service Brian and his crew provide. They are polite, respectful, and well versed in anything I have needed or asked about my home. They take great care to do excellent work. I feel like they treat my home like it's theirs. The advice Brian has given me has always been not to maximize profit or do the most expensive thing, but the best thing for my home and my needs.

I am writing this review as a last resort. I am writing this review, after trying to resolve my concerns privately, for several days. The company will, inexplicably, not respond. House Master was originally scheduled to be at my home on July 31. An hour before they were to arrive, Lisa texted me, asking to reschedule, for a legitimate reason. I agreed and she promised to get back with me "sometime today" to reschedule. FIVE days later, on Monday August 5th, at 7:23 pm, Lisa texted me, asking , "How would Wednesday after lunch work for you?". I immediately responded, "Sounds good". That was the last I heard from them. The next day, at 12:39, I texted Lisa, asking if they were coming today. No response. On Thursday, Aug. 8th, at 8:03 AM, I texted Lisa, asking why they didn't come, or at least call to cancel. No response. On Friday, Aug. 9th, I called Lisa and the other listed phone number. I got no answer at either. I was angry, but purposefully waited before writing this review. Since it has been MORE THAN A WEEK since I heard from them...I feel that this review is justified. In my opinion, there is no excuse for failing to communicate with customers. I understand that circumstances arise beyond human control. I realize businesses are busy. But it is extremely unprofessional for a 'business" to operate as this one has. How difficult is it to respond to a text, to let a customer know the reason for the delay. Simple courtesy! Again, they were originally supposed to arrive July 31. Today is August 13. I have not heard from them since August 5. THEY HAVE HAD AMPLE OPPORTUNITY to advise me of any issues they may have experienced. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone.

We had Brian create a cement bump for our electric gate and he did a wonderful job on that. However, when we had him build a shed for us, it took months and he never completed the shed. The garage door on the shed was not installed properly and the sink that he installed leaks. I had foolishly paid the final installment before the job was completed so that is on me. Its really too bad because I really like him. I just wish that he would've completed the job. Reply to House Master Response: Dear Brian, My husband and I have not had very much experience with contractors in the past. We expect and hold them to the same standards that are expected of ourselves in our jobs. If we had missed as many days of work on a new job as you had when we first contracted you, we would have been fired within days. As a matter of fact, I recall strongly encouraging my husband to do so. He refused saying that he believed you were just having a difficult time and would do as great a job this time as you did on the concrete given the opportunity. Even though we were both very pleased with the concrete work you had done for us previously, you were constantly absent during that process as well. Surely you can understand the inconvenience it causes the customer to not have a job completed when expected. Even still, it wasn't your lack of work that had upset him to the point of writing a poor review of you, it was your lack of communication. Even on the first job when you were not showing up, you at least reached out to him to let him know what was going on and it was because of that his faith in you was stronger than mine. None of us enjoy being called out for errors others feel we have made. With these methods, you should be able to overcome any poor review. Instead of getting defensive, and or making excuses, acknowledge the customer's feelings. Apologize that they feel slighted, and assure them that you are willing to discuss ways to reach an agreement. Let them know that you appreciate their feedback as an opportunity to grow. Above all stand by what you say you are going to do and communicate.
