If I could give a zero star I would ! My experience with Bert Black Co. was a total waste of time. The tech was a total failure. Couldn’t even figure out my unit needed a fan blade assembly to go with the new motor! He hooked the motor to the fan, tightened the cage screws down turned the breaker on and I thought the unit was going to shake loose from its pad ! The blades were out of balance! Tech says well I can’t say this will last one day one week or one year. I said let me help you sir, turn it off, take your motor and your free to move on to your next call. I’m done ! He leaves without his service call money ( which I was not going to pay for anyway ) and acted a little mad, He did tell me that my unit was on its last leg and a new one would be the best action to take. So I asked ( cause I’m nice like that ) sir how much ? 4000-7000.00 he says. Two hours and 132.00 later my decision to DIY was the answer. What a shame to own a company’s like this. It must be disappointing.
If you're looking for a knowledgeable and common sense HVAC guy, JJ Slayton with Bert Black Co. is the one to call. He literally grew up in the HVAC business. We never have to second guess him.
I got home late Friday night and my house was 80 degrees while set at 70.. Not knowing a lot about AC units, I started googling hoping to find an easy fix. Going on 2 am and it is still hot as heck and the battery on my headlamp was going dead and decided rather than continuing to try I would call it a night and continue the battle in the morning. Next morning in the daylight same problem with what I ran into the night before. It is Memorial day weekend and with family members in the real estate business I called them to see what they thought the issue maybe and who they recommended to call. I got a call back from Bob and he was great to speak with off the start, he walked me thru every step or solution I had tried the night before without any hesitation. He explained stuff so that it actually made sense, and seemed more like a help line or like I had called a friend. I have never dealt with any service company who's job is to service try and walk a client thru solving the problem the way he did, much less on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Not sure on his position with the company and he does not know me from Adam, but hands down the experience was one that has me writing a review which I don't . They have my business and I will refer them to anyone who needs something done.
Helped us with a plumbing issue promptly and did a wonderful job!! Highly recommend them!
doesn't seem like there is enough communication between those that schedule services and those that service. not very reliable. bob is a nice technician but the company itself cant be depended on. . 3rd time was not a charm. i will not ever use the again.
