CON-MEN AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Had these guys fit a gas grant in my disabled Mother's house. The grant was supposed to be free fitting of gas to improve the heating in her home. She has MS and is unable to get upstairs however we were unable to get out of work to oversee it so we had to leave it in the hands of the engineers and when someone is on Phoenix Gas register you assume they'll be trustworthy, right? Wrong. They had complained about the amount of money in the grant and been doing work upstairs. They coerced her to sign off the work before it was even complete then finished up an hour or two later. I came around to inspect the 'work' they had done after I finished work to find they had only gone and placed a gas boiler in the middle of a BEDROOM wall upstairs. Not even in the built in wardrobe in that room or in the downstairs boiler cupboard where it is supposed to go in place of it's predecessor, but smack bang in the middle of a bedroom wall. Unfortunately for us this was the box room in the house and now we are unable to even fit a bed in the BEDroom. I'm told it'll have to be sold as a 3 bedroom house instead of a 4 if we don't get it corrected reducing the value of the property significantly north of £10k. There is also hideous piping all down the front of the property and even on the living room walls. They literally drilled holes through floors and the front of her home knowing full well this will need to be corrected. When I called them I spoke with a man that sounded as if he may have had learning difficulties and was told it'll cost me around £1000 for him to correct it. He also claimed he advised our Mother about this but she is adamant this isn't the case as no one on the planet would agree to this. I have had a correction priced by 2 reputable gas fitters since and they have advised he did this because it is easier to have the boiler facing the front or back of the house as the flu can go outside easily. They also priced it at around £600 to correct so it appears to have all been a scam. Learning difficulties or not no one legitimate would present anyone with the option of losing a bedroom when they already have a nominated boiler cupboard in the house. I can't stress enough how important it is to not use these kids. They have proved to be both untrustworthy and incompetent. Use literally anyone else at all.
