Mark Grieg was recommended by a friend who has several rental properties as being prompt, reliable and having done excellent work for her. Mark came on time to quote for our boiler replacement. We wanted to relocate the boiler and Mark gave us written quotes for 4 options. Another local and highly regarded plumber gave only short texted quotes and for the option we went for quoted nearly twice the price! Scottish Gas weren't interested in relocating the boiler, and their quote for a like for like replacement was much more than Mark's quote for our preferred option. However, having had a boiler replaced a few years previously in another property we knew Mark's price was realistic, and we knew that the Worcester Bosch boiler we wanted was not cheap either. Mark's company is a accredited installer for Worcester Bosch. So last August (2016) Mark installed our replacement boiler with new smart controls. Mark and his team came the day arranged, worked very tidily and completed the job in a couple of days. They also fixed a toilet cistern that another plumber had installed with a screw that did not belong to the kit and had rusted so badly it was colouring the flush water. We had a snag with flue flashing which Mark had rectified immediately, and only when we were entirely satisfied did he send the final invoice. So 1 year on how are things? We are delighted; heating gas bill is about 40% lower, the house heats up more quickly and the smart control is great. We had Mark Greig Plumbing and Heating Ltd service the boiler today - Shaun spent around an hour checking the boiler, water tank and radiators - the last Scottish Gas service engineer spent 15 minutes on the premises! So if your elderly boiler needs to be replaced, do it, you will save money on bills, and get Mark Greig to quote. He will come promptly, make sensible suggestions and not waste time on silly small talk or try to blind you with technical babble, and will do a neat and tidy job.
