I don't usually write reviews but in this case felt compelled. I decided to have a new $3,500 front door installed. I went into the store in August. My door is finally getting installed in January. 5 months. I can be patient as long as the store keeps me informed on the status of my order. Home Depot has not once in the last 4 months called me to let me know what is going on with my order. I had to go into the store 4 times to essentially demand an update. Each time resulted in at least an hour with a rep trying to "figure out what is going on" and unfulfilled deadlines and promises of a "future phone calls to keep me posted." If you are in a hurry with a home improvement project go somewhere else. On a side note, I decided to get new carpeting throughout my house at the same time. When I went into Home Depot for an estimate and because they were advertising "guaranteed free installation within 72 hours" I got my estimate but when I asked about the installation and if I could expect it within the next few days the customer service rep actually laughed at me. She said, we advertise that but NEVER meet the deadline. "They" will probably give you a gift card in its place. I went to Lowe's. I will be going to Lowe's for EVERYTHING from now on.

I never write reviews, but feel compelled to write one for this store. Long story but here goes.....One of our fur babies had been very sick all of 2017. One of the biggest issues he had was that he lost his eye sight over night due to a condition called SARDS. In addition, he developed diabetes and became unable to hold his bladder and started having accidents in the house. We made the decision to to put a dog door in our home to give him access to get outside whenever he needed too to prevent further accidents. What does Home Depot have to do with this story you may ask? Well, here's where they come in. The dog door was at the correct height inside the house, but outside the house there was a decent size drop from the dog door to the ground. With our little guy now being blind, he wouldn't be able to see that drop and could get hurt. I needed to build a step for him so he would have some sort of landing as he went through the door. I measured what I thought I needed and went into Home Depot looking for some odd sized scrap pieces of lumber to build a box/step. I spoke with Roy and Jacob in lumber. They were both so friendly and willing to help. Unfortunately, they didn't have what I was looking for that day. Roy took the measurements I had written down and said he would keep an eye out for anything that might fit my needs and call me the next day he was in to work. I left thinking that was nice, but honestly didn't expect a call back. Two days later, the day Roy said he would be back to work, not only did he call me as promised, he let me know that my box/step had been built and was ready for me to pick up. WHAT?!?!? Yep, he built the box for me (probably knowing that I didn't have a clue what I was doing from our previous meeting). I can't even begin to tell you how this act of kindness touched my heart. It was such a hard year getting our boy healthy and this was the final thing we needed to help him with some independence. When I arrived at Home Depot the next day to pick it up, Erin greeted me and said "I know exactly where your box is!". She took me straight to it with a big, friendly smile. When I saw it, I was in shock!! It was a beautiful cedar deck like step/box!!! I had to fight back tears. Roy went out of his way to help us with something that probably seemed pretty small to him, but it meant the world to us. I am so thankful and am now a Home Depot customer for life. Thank you Roy and crew. Your kindness means more than I could ever say. I wish more places had this kind of caring customer service. THANK YOU!!!

We will never do business with Home depot again. Our "72 hour" carpet installation was 3-4 weeks out for installation and we were not told that at the time of purchase. I ended up changing the type of carpet so we could have it installed within a week and the sales associate JANICE knew what our situation was and that we needed it right away and still did not tell me. We ended up going to a competitor for a higher grade carpet with a week installation and cheaper price. The awesome customer service compared to the Home Depot was a bonus!! JANICE in carpet also made a remark about my twin girls and how if I wanted a boy I could just raise one of the girls as a boy instead of a girl. Unbelievable and not appropriate at all!! Again... I will never do any business with the Home depot. I am going local from now on!

I ordered a shower installation on Nov. 16th. The sales person that came to my house was excellent (obviously because by the time he left I had ordered a $7500 shower installation). I was told to expect my new shower by mid January. January came and went...no email....no phone call....no updates and no shower. I called for an update and was told my install was actually going to be mid February. Mid February came and went....no email...no phone call.....no shower. I called home depot and got no answers. I went to the store to inquire and was told they would have to look into it and call me later. When I finally received a phone call I told them that I would like to cancel my installation because it has been months and I was tired of waiting. I had opened a home depot credit account for this install and had already paid over a thousand dollars for the shower that never came. It is now March.....no cancellation has processed and no money refunded. I still have an open install order on my home depot account and a balance showing on the credit card. You would think that there would be at least a little attempt at some customer service but there has been zero effort. It is nearing four months since I ordered my shower and I have nothing to show for it except a new credit card and $1000 dollars missing from my checking account.
