United Sewer & Drain Cleaning

I highly recommend this company. They went the extra mile to actually solve my problem, instead of just temporarily fixing it. Oh, and their price for a standard snaking of my pipe was half of what I'd been paying to the national "rooter" franchise guy. Over 30 years I've had three or four times where I had to get someone to clear the sewer line in our 1830s home for roots. The worst was the first time when we "discovered" our problem with sewage in the basement. In all this time, no one has ever offered a solution. They came, ran the pipe, it worked, that was it. After using a national franchise "rooter" company with recurring troubles, this time I tried United, a local Stratford company. They ran the pipe Tuesday and diagnosed major root encroachment. Unique to United was that they offered a solution. No one had ever done that before. The next day Sam and his son Sam Jr. spent five-and-a-half hours with a water jet cutting incredible masses of roots from every joint in my old clay pipe. A camera run in the line told all. They were skilled, patient and thorough. Sam had to run the pipe from the street end back to the house, reverse of typical procedure, because there were so many roots and he wanted to prevent water backing up into the house. When finished, Sam left me a prescription and maintenance plan to make sure I never again have a backed-up sewer line. Oh, and they left the basement cleaner than when they arrived.

United came out to our house in response to a claim that we posted through HomeServe. We got a call within 2 hours and even though it wasn't an emergency, Jeff came to our house the next morning. He was quick, knowledgeable and very considerate. We had a leak under our faucet. He knew exactly what he needed and didn't have it on the truck. He left, got the part and came right back. He was done in less than 30 minutes and the leak is fixed!
